About Me

After leaving Oxford University in 1988 with a degree in Experimental Psychology, my first career was in broadcasting when I joined BBC Radio Oxford. I loved radio: whether ‘out and about’ in the radio car, making serious documentaries or presenting my own programme.

During this period, a healing gift spontaneously emerged: a number of synchronicities led me to train with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers and after a couple of years as an Apprentice, I began seeing clients professionally. Over the last 30 years, I have taken a number of courses to further develop my healing gifts, but in essence, the gift remains the same: through connecting to and channelling ‘universal life force energy’, it is possible to facilitate a healing process with a client. My understanding is that this happens through a mysterious combination of externally channelled healing, the client’s own innate healing energy and the unique connection between healer and client.

After a profound healing experience with a client in 1996, I wrote and published "Death: Breaking the Taboo". A year later, I moved to Scotland to live in a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. Here I immersed myself for two years in the study, practice and application of Vajrayana Buddhism – learning to meditate, and in particular discovering a strong connection with the female Buddha and deity, White Tara. White Tara has a peaceful energy and is associated with healing, long life, spiritual development and wisdom.

In Vajrayana Buddhism, the naturally enlightened state is skilfully activated through a number of methods: one of these being ‘deity practice’. Through visualisation, chanting and meditation on a particular deity, our ordinary sense of self falls away as we begin to experience ourselves as the deity. This is not a form of hypnosis, but rather our true nature breaking through the many illusions that make up our ordinary way of thinking and perceiving. Most of us will resonate strongly with one deity more than another, and this will become our main ‘practice’.

I have received a number of White Tara empowerments from highly respected Tibetan Masters of the Kagyu lineage and trained extensively in the practices of Tibetan Buddhism. I undertook a number of retreats, including a 100 day Tara Retreat. In 2004, I was authorised to teach Meditation and offered classes alongside my healing work in Edinburgh, before returning to England in 2006.

In 2009, I began introducing small groups to White Tara, seeking to bridge the gap many people experienced between the traditional Tibetan approach and our Western culture. In 2010, I co-founded the Oxford White Tara Group under Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, a much loved and respected Tibetan Master in the Kagyu School.

I came to Dorset in 2015, where most of my work now takes place. It was here that I also experienced my first ‘Soundbath’ – an immersion in the pure sound of crystal and Tibetan bowls, led by Dean Carter. An experienced musician and sound healer, Dean’s work is also inspired by White Tara. In 2017, we offered our first White Tara Teaching Day and now regularly work together – offering our unique and popular White Tara 2:1 Healing Sessions and Teaching Days.

This is beautiful work. Anna’s teaching is eloquent and her devotion to White Tara comes through in such a way that you cannot help but be inspired – and uplifted.

Deborah, Oxfordshire

Thank you for the amazing healing session. The combination of Dean’s crystal bowls and Anna’s White Tara Healing was incredibly powerful and I experienced quite a profound healing shift. A really big thank you to you both.

RS, Dorset

I work in conventional medicine as a GP and knew nothing about White Tara. Today’s teaching, guided visualisations and Soundbath opened my mind to new approaches to health and healing and I am very grateful.

Trisha, Somerset

White Tara Healing has given me a confidence I’ve never had before.

Lorna, Dundee

Thank you both so much for the amazing session this morning. I had no preconceived ideas as to what would happen – and yet was bowled over by how profound and transformational it was.

ML, Dorset

My wife suggested I come to one of Anna’s teaching days; I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! It was informative and relaxing – Tara may be a female Buddha, but I experienced her essence as beyond male or female.
